The Challenge
We came upon the challenge that their apps needed to be appealing, robust, user-friendly, secure and scientifically accurate all at the same time. As a result of their vast experience in the field the client had an excellent grasp on the scientific side of things, they just needed help with the software development side to be able to make their idea a reality.
Our Solution
Our collaboration resulted in the development of three different applications aimed to help people by taking into account their own unique DNA data. The first app was named Per Cup and it was developed to check for genetic variants that have been shown to be connected with several different aspects of caffeine response. Later came SlumberType, which is the world's first sleep app to be DNA-based, it allows people to learn how DNA influences their sleeping habits and gain insights about how those results likely impact other aspects of their life. The last one, GenoTonez we built as a fun proof of concept that used information contained in DNA paired with AI algorithms to build music.

Telemedicine app
The Challenge
The challenge was to build a platform for the client that would enable doctors to chat with patients without sharing their contact information. The platform needed to be secure, fast, stable and user friendly.
Our Solution
By integrating TokBox we built a messaging platform from the ground up where patients and doctors can exchange text, image, audio and video messages; and can make audio and video calls. We worked closely with the client to add features that were key to doctors using the app, like sorting patient conversations by urgency level, or detecting the use of certain keywords in messages from patients indicating a sense of urgency.
A smartwatch-empowered suite that helps medical teams save more lives during cardiac arrest scenarios
The Challenge
This wearable links with a cloud-based software to help rescue teams quickly improve their CPR efforts. The client was on their way to building their solution when they came across a major roadblock in the iOS ecosystem that forced them to rethink things. They had their forward-thinking product already envisioned and just needed some expert tech help to overcome the iOS roadblock they came across.
Our Solution
We teamed up to closely assess the situation and together reached the decision that moving to Google's Wear OS was the way to go. By switching to a more flexible and customizable environment we found it easier to start building the solution that the client needed. By working together we built a seasoned smartwatch-empowered platform that today leads the way in helping medical teams save more lives by utilizing data in real time during cardiac arrest scenarios.

How do I know if my application needs to be HIPAA compliant?
If your application doesn't call for sharing protected health information (PHI) with a Covered Entity (insurance companies, physician's offices, psychologists, HMOs), you are not subject to HIPAA compliance rules. Although you should still take security measures to ensure consumer/patient information is safe.
